Wireless mouse

Because not every wireless mouse works great with every computer, it is important that a person buying a wireless mouse keeps a few things in mind. Some of the things a person buying a wireless mouse should remember include:

• What technology is used – Not every wireless mouse uses the same kind of technology. Some of these mice use Bluetooth technology. Bluetooth has quickly become one of the most popular wireless technologies. However, there are other technologies, such as infrared, that are also used.

• Look for compatibility – Sometime a wireless mouse is designed to work with only one kind of computer. For example, Apple’s Mighty Mouse will only work with Macs. They do not work with PCs. On the other hand, there are many kinds of mice that work with PCs, but will not work with Macs.

• Will it be lost? – This is a serious consideration for anybody who has small children. Whereas a mouse with a cord is hard for a child to run off with, a wireless mouse is easy to lose. Those who have small children might want to make sure the mouse is put away in between uses to ensure that a child does not get hold of it.

• Know the range – Because the trend is moving toward large computers that double as television screens, a person must know how far the range of the wireless mouse is. For example, if he wants to sit on one end of the room while his CPU is on the other side, there is a chance the range of the wireless mouse may not be enough.
